Art Exhibition as a Response to the Challenges of War
The exhibition near the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian people continues to explore artistic responses to war, emphasizing the resilience of the Ukrainian nation through creativity.
In Central Park in Kyiv, beside the Arch of Freedom, the exhibition features winners of the XV International Art Festival MALYUY.UA.
This exhibition is part of the 12th phase of the art marathon "Generation of War," which began in December 2023 and will continue until the end of the conflict.
The project unites artists of all ages — from children to seniors — everyone experiencing the war. The art marathon serves an important art-therapeutic role, recording artistic testimonies of war and calling on the world to support Ukraine. The art showcased in the exhibition demonstrates the strength of the human spirit and the ability to create beauty even in the toughest times.
Among the exhibits are works by Ukrainians who have lived under the threat of bombs for four years: military personnel, children of defenders, civilians remaining in their cities and villages, internally displaced persons, and those forced to leave the country due to the war. Each of them fights daily for victory over the aggressor and for peace in Ukraine.
The project also has international support: it involves over 1000 artists from 20 countries, including the USA, Canada, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland, and many others.
The exhibition in Kyiv is regularly updated with new works from art marathon participants, and Ukrainian artists continue their battle on the cultural front. Since the project's inception, more than 40 exhibitions have been held in 12 countries, and the overall artistic diplomacy has reached 17 nations.
It is worth noting that MALYUY.UA.WAR is an ongoing artistic project in Ukraine that has been documenting shifts in public consciousness through art since the first week of the full-scale invasion.
The project is organized by the Association for the Development of International Relations (ADRUM) and the company STUDIORAR, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the Kyiv City Administration.
Those interested in participating in the exhibition leading up to Ukraine's Independence Day can find details via the link.
The exhibition is open for viewing until August 10, 2025.
