Ukrzaliznytsia is enhancing its services for families traveling with children. Starting from February 27, 2025, the first children's coach will operate on the international train route No. 351/352 Kyiv — Chișinău. This initiative aims to provide maximum comfort for passengers traveling with young kids.
Children's Coach to Chișinău: What to Know
One of the main advantages of this coach is its equipment designed to ensure the comfort and safety of young travelers. It is equipped with ramps for strollers, playpens for infants, changing tables, and hypoallergenic bedding. Special attention is also given to entertainment and meals: themed compartments with illustrations, the ability to heat baby food, and a special children's menu will enhance the travel experience for little passengers. Notably, the coach is fully certified for international routes, ensuring compliance with all necessary safety standards.
This coach is suitable for families with children of all ages, but it is specifically designed for infants and children up to 8 years old. During boarding, young passengers will receive special bracelets indicating their compartment and their parents' contact numbers. The corridor features interactive posters, busy boards with moving elements, and soft-covered handrails for safe movement throughout the coach. The design incorporates materials from the preschool development platform “NUMO,” developed by a team of UNICEF experts in Ukraine with support from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The children's coach will run as part of train No. 351/352 Kyiv — Chișinău. The train departs from Kyiv at 5:05 PM and arrives in Chișinău at 11:30 AM the next day. On the return trip, it leaves Chișinău at 5:34 PM and arrives in Kyiv at 12:20 PM. To purchase a ticket for this coach, passengers should look for the special marking “Children's Coach.” Ticket prices may vary, so it is advisable to check the price before purchasing. Ticket sales for the children's coach are now open.
This initiative by Ukrzaliznytsia showcases the company's commitment to continuous improvement and enhancing service quality, especially for families with children who require special attention and comfort during their travels. According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, over 2.5 million mothers with children crossed the Ukrainian border in 2023, indicating a significant demand for comfortable travel conditions for this passenger category.
