The Office of the Attorney General has submitted an indictment to the court regarding two residents of the capital who defrauded farmers of more than 3 million UAH.
According to the Attorney General's Office, these previously convicted men impersonated government officials.
They contacted potential victims by phone, offering them foreign grants for agricultural development.
The fraudsters persuaded farmers to pay fees as commissions, and subsequently converted the stolen funds into cash.
The accused promised farmers that they would fulfill their contractual obligations to delay their reporting to law enforcement, but then completely stopped responding to calls.
