New Agreement Between Ukraine and Switzerland on Reconstruction
Ukraine and Switzerland have signed a new bilateral agreement on cooperation in the area of reconstruction. This document was established between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Federal Council of Switzerland.
This was reported by the Ministry of Economy.
According to the Ministry, the Swiss government considers the reconstruction of Ukraine to be its strategic priority and plans to allocate 5 billion francs (€4.8 billion) by 2036.
The agreement provides for Switzerland to offer non-repayable financial and technical assistance for the procurement of goods and services from Swiss companies for reconstruction projects in the following sectors:
- Energy;
- Transport and mobility;
- Machinery for production processes;
- Construction;
- Water supply;
Prevention and response to emergencies.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the agreement includes a transparent project selection mechanism through public procurement under Swiss legislation, exclusively involving Swiss companies. Special attention is paid to:
- The impact on Ukraine's reconstruction process;
- The contribution to achieving Sustainable Development Goals and the "green" transition;
- The creation of jobs in Ukraine;
- The professional training of Ukrainian specialists.
