Microsoft Reclaims Top Spot as Apple Shares Decline

After a four-day decline in Apple’s shares by 23%, Microsoft has once again become the most valuable company in the world. As of trading on April 8, its market capitalization reached $2.64 trillion, while Apple stood at $2.59 trillion. This is reported by CNBC.
Among tech giants, Apple was the hardest hit by the latest round of tariffs from President Donald Trump, primarily due to its heavy reliance on Chinese suppliers. Overall, the Nasdaq index fell by 13% over four sessions, and UBS predicts that the new tariffs may increase the price of the iPhone 16 Pro Max in the U.S. by $350.
Not long ago, the combined market capitalization of Apple, Microsoft, and NVIDIA exceeded $3 trillion, but market fluctuations have altered that. Although Microsoft released a weak forecast in January, analysts at Jefferies recently identified it as one of the least vulnerable to tariff instability.
Microsoft was already the market leader at the beginning of 2024, but Apple quickly regained its lead.
