New Diplomatic Milestone for Ukraine in the USA

Ukraine has officially expanded its consular representation in the United States by opening an honorary consulate in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The renowned American volunteer and advocate for Ukraine, Karl Algren, has been appointed as the honorary consul. This was announced by Ukraine's ambassador to the USA, Olha Stefanishyna, on social media.
During the official ceremony, the ambassador presented Karl Algren with the consular patent, and both parties signed an agreement outlining consular functions and duties.
Karl Algren is recognized as the founder of the nonprofit organization Ukraine Action Plan, known for its advocacy and humanitarian efforts supporting Ukraine in the USA.
Olha Stefanishyna emphasized that the activities of the newly established office in Tulsa will extend beyond providing consular assistance to Ukrainian citizens.
“The opening of the Honorary Consulate in Tulsa will not only enhance the capacity to provide consular assistance but will also foster the development of sister city relationships between regions of Ukraine and Oklahoma, and promote public diplomacy projects,” the ambassador highlighted.
Welcoming Karl Algren to his new role as honorary consul in Tulsa, Olha Stefanishyna noted that there are now 11 honorary consulates of Ukraine operating in the United States.
Irina Podiryako, president of the Franco-Ukrainian Association of the French Riviera, has been appointed as the honorary consul of Ukraine in Nice.
