Latvia's Continued Support for Ukraine's Energy Recovery

Latvia has provided an additional 125,000 euros for the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure and its stabilization. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine following a meeting between foreign ministers Andrii Sybiha and Baiba Braže in Kyiv.
“The leaders of the diplomatic services focused on supporting Ukraine's energy system ahead of winter. We are grateful to Latvia for this significant contribution of 125,000 euros, which will aid in the restoration of energy facilities, ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, and stabilize the energy system,” – noted the Ministry.
Sybiha expressed deep gratitude to Latvia for its comprehensive support for Ukraine since the early days of the full-scale invasion, including annual defense assistance amounting to 0.25% of Latvia's GDP. The total amount of aid has already exceeded 1.6% of Latvia's GDP.
“This includes weaponry, munitions, training for servicemen, and financial support. We are also thankful to Latvia for joining PURL and for the recent transfer of 42 PATRIA 6x6 armored personnel carriers,” — added the foreign minister.
Additionally, Sybiha thanked Latvia for rebuilding critical and civil infrastructure in Chernihiv region, as well as for providing rest opportunities for Ukrainian children in Latvia. The interlocutors discussed the implementation of this year's projects in Chernihiv region, with a total budget of 5.7 million euros, as well as prospects and priorities for the coming year.
