In preparation for the winter season, Ukraine is taking significant steps to enhance its energy security. In his morning address, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced plans for a new gas supply agreement with Greece.
According to him, this initiative will introduce an alternative route for gas imports, reducing risks during the winter months and decreasing reliance on existing supply routes.
The President noted that funding of nearly 2 billion euros for gas imports has already been secured. This financial support will help offset losses incurred due to Russian strikes on energy infrastructure.
As the President stated, "the Ukrainian government has allocated funds for imports, with support from our European partners, European banks – under the guarantees of the European Commission, and assistance from Ukrainian banks and Norway. Active collaboration is underway with American partners to ensure full financing. We are creating robust solutions for winter supply".
