The Executive Board of UNESCO has made a decision regarding emergency assistance programs for Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
During its 222nd session in Paris, the Executive Board reaffirmed its solidarity with the Ukrainian people as they deal with the severe consequences of Russian aggression and urged the Director-General of UNESCO to continue monitoring the situation in Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
“The decision reinforces UNESCO's steadfast position in defending Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as international law and human rights. The support from UNESCO, which is already yielding tangible results, will be strengthened further, particularly during post-war recovery,” the statement emphasizes.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that Ukraine views assistance from UNESCO as an integral part of global solidarity and a collective contribution to recovery and post-war rebuilding.
