New Agreement Between Ukraine and IAEA for Energy Recovery

During the Conference on Ukraine's Recovery in Rome, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the IAEA.
The President expressed gratitude to the IAEA and Rafael Grossi for their support and willingness to assist Ukraine. He emphasized the critical nature of protecting nuclear energy infrastructure for the country's energy security.
In the presence of President Zelensky, Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko and Rafael Grossi signed a Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration in the restoration of Ukraine's energy sector.
The document outlines that the IAEA will act as a guarantor of safety during the completion of additional units at the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant. Furthermore, it confirms support for exploration, extraction, and production of uranium resources in Ukraine, which is vital for strengthening the nation's energy security.
