New Partnership for Business Growth in Ukraine
A new partnership is being established to enhance entrepreneurship and innovation.
A recent document signed in Kyiv outlines joint efforts to revitalize small and medium enterprises, share knowledge in digital economy, sustainable production, logistics, and the development of industrial parks.
The signing ceremony took place with the participation of representatives from the Kyiv City State Administration, Leipzig City Hall, business associations from both cities, and international experts.
Kyiv — a central hub of Ukrainian entrepreneurship, where significant decisions are made for the country.
«It is crucial for us that business initiatives are realized in cooperation with those who share our values and envision Ukraine's future in Europe», — emphasized Anna Starostenko, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City Administration and Kyiv City Council member (UDAR faction).
The signing of the Memorandum with Leipzig is a logical continuation of years of fruitful cooperation now transitioning into economic development.
«We understand that the effectiveness of support for small and medium enterprises today will determine the pace and quality of recovery not only for the capital but for the entire Ukraine. The partnership with Leipzig opens new tools for Kyiv — from attracting investments and technology exchange to implementing joint educational and practical programs for entrepreneurs. Through such initiatives, we are not just building a modern business environment but strengthening our European choice», — noted Anna Starostenko.
Key areas of collaboration:
- facilitating business recovery in Kyiv and attracting investments;
- joint business incubation and startup acceleration programs;
- development of eco-entrepreneurship and circular economy;
- digital transformation and automation of small businesses;
- hosting business forums, exhibitions, and training programs.
«Kyiv and Leipzig — are not just sister cities. From the first days of the full-scale aggression, Leipzig supported Kyiv, and we are sincerely grateful for this assistance. Today, we lay the foundation for strategic partnership in entrepreneurship. The Leipzig City Hall understands the importance of supporting Ukrainian businesses, as they will be the cornerstone of rapid recovery for the capital and the economy of the entire country», — stressed Volodymyr Kostikov, Director of the Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of the Kyiv City Administration.
The implementation of the Memorandum will allow Kyiv entrepreneurs to access new markets, financing tools, educational programs, and technologies. The first pilot project — the Kyiv-Leipzig Business School for young entrepreneurs is set to launch soon.
Collaboration with Leipzig is part of Kyiv's comprehensive international strategy for post-war economic recovery, fostering an entrepreneurial environment, and integration into the European economic community.
