On April 14, the United Kingdom transferred 752 million pounds (990 million dollars) to Ukraine under the G7 credit mechanism, using frozen Russian assets.
This was reported by "European Truth" citing Reuters.
This latest British payment is the second of three planned disbursements totaling 2.26 billion pounds. The first was made on March 6 and amounted to 752 million pounds.
The remaining funds are expected to be disbursed in 2026.
UK Finance Minister Rachel Reeves commented, "The world is changing before our eyes, reshaped by global instability, particularly the Russian aggression in Ukraine."
It is worth noting that in 2024, the G7 agreed to jointly provide Ukraine with a loan of 50 billion dollars from Russian assets: the funds will be formally provided as a loan but will be repaid from revenues generated by frozen Russian assets.
By the end of December 2024, Ukraine received the first tranche from the US of the planned 20 billion dollars in American contributions, and in January 2025, the first 3 billion euros from the EU.
