Initiation of Technical Consultations on Mineral Agreement between Ukraine and the USA
On April 11, technical consultations between teams from Ukraine and the USA regarding the mineral agreement will begin in Washington.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Olga Stefanishyna during a press conference in Brussels, as reported by "European Truth".
Stefanishyna mentioned that the technical consultations involving the Ministries of Justice and Economy of Ukraine will take place on April 11.
When asked by a journalist about the details of these consultations, she stated that she cannot comment on them at this time.
"I am unable to discuss any details as the meeting will be tomorrow, but I will be able to comment after it," she said.
She emphasized that nothing in the agreement can be a subject of negotiation that would undermine Ukraine's existing obligations, including financial ones, under the European macro-financial assistance program from the IMF.
"This is non-negotiable, and thus it implies that necessary adjustments must be made to the agreement format later," she added.
It is known that following negotiations in Jeddah on March 11, the presidents of the USA and Ukraine reached an agreement on the development of Ukraine's critical mineral resources.
After this, Stefanishyna stated that the framework agreement with the USA regarding mineral resources is finalized and Ukraine is ready to sign at any moment.
On March 24, Trump announced that the agreement on rare earth metals with Ukraine would be signed "soon," and Ukrainian President Zelensky mentioned that the United States offered a new version of the mining agreement that would immediately require ratification in parliament outside the initial framework agreement.
