Estonian Defense Minister's Visit to Kyiv: Exploring New Cooperation

The Estonian Minister of Defense, Hanno Pevkur, shared insights from his two-day visit to Kyiv.

During the visit, they discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in defense and potential military support for Ukraine.

The minister was accompanied by representatives from over 30 Estonian defense industry companies.

At a special forum, the representatives established contacts with Ukrainian colleagues, who represented nearly 90 local defense companies, and familiarized themselves with each other's products.

"The strengths of the Estonian defense industry lie in drones, technologies, and intelligence. However, our entrepreneurs should not limit themselves to these areas – they need to seek opportunities for producing heavy weaponry and ammunition. We certainly have much to learn from the Ukrainians," Pevkur noted.

He also emphasized that closer cooperation between the defense enterprises of both countries contributes to the security of Estonia and Ukraine.

Recently, Ukraine provided a list of military equipment worth 100 million euros that Estonia is set to quickly procure from its domestic defense industry.

Additionally, at the end of February, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine.
