Air Defense Success: Ukraine's Response to Attacks
The air defense forces of Ukraine successfully neutralized 116 drones and intercepted a portion of the "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles that were launched by Russian forces on the evening of February 8. This was reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces via Telegram.
Starting from 5:30 PM on Sunday, February 8, the invaders launched an attack with 11 "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles from the Bryansk region, along with 149 strike UAVs of various types including Shahed, "Herbera", and "Italmas", from directions such as Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo (Russia), temporarily occupied Donetsk, and Hvardiyiske (temporarily occupied Crimea), totaling around 90 Shahed drones.
Defense operations were carried out by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 9:30 AM on Monday, February 9, the air defense had shot down 116 drones.
Additionally, some of the "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles were intercepted and did not reach their targets.
There were recorded hits from missiles and 23 strike UAVs at 15 different locations, as well as debris from downed drones at 6 sites.
The attack continues, with several enemy drones still in the airspace.
On the evening of February 8, air raid alerts were announced in several regions, including Kyiv, due to the threat of ballistic weapons being used by Russia.
