The air defense forces in Ukraine effectively neutralized 103 out of 146 drones used in the Russian attack on January 27 in the evening.
According to the reports from the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram, the assault began at 18:00 when the enemy fired a ballistic missile "Iskander-M" from the Rostov region, along with 146 strike drones of types Shahed, "Herbera", "Italmas" and others launched from directions including Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), Chauda, and Hvardijske (temporarily occupied Crimea). Approximately 90 of the drones were of the Shahed type.
The attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian defense forces.
As of 09:00 on Wednesday, January 28, air defense reported shooting down 103 drones across northern, southern, central, and eastern Ukraine.
There were confirmed strikes from the ballistic missile and 36 strike drones at 22 locations.
The assault is ongoing, and several enemy drones remain in the airspace.
Tragically, as a result of the drone attack on January 28 in the Kyiv region, a woman and a man lost their lives, and four others were injured, including two children.
