Mach Industries Unveils New Drone Interceptor Missile
The American defense firm Mach Industries has introduced an innovative missile designed for drone interception, named Dart. The development began in 2024, according to the manufacturer.
Dart is classified as a "ground-to-air" weapon. It has been created as a cost-effective solution against strike UAVs, serving as an alternative to conventional air defense systems. According to the company, the anti-drone system comprising missiles and radar allows for "mass deployment" directly at potential drone attack sites.
“It is flexibly mounted on launch stations, vehicles, or fixed structures and can be scaled from a single unit to hundreds, depending on the threat density,” the Mach Industries website states.
The Dart missiles work in conjunction with a specialized ground radar that detects strike drones and initiates interceptor launches. The weapon operates on the principle of kinetic interception, hitting its target at high speed and destroying it.
The company has indicated that they are continuing to improve the missile ahead of operational testing and plan to deploy it in combat operations by the end of 2026.
