Update on Ukraine's Defense Against Drone and Missile Attacks
The air defense forces successfully intercepted 83 drones and two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles launched by Russian forces on the evening of December 10. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force via their Telegram channel.
From 7:00 PM on December 10, the aggressors carried out a combined strike on Ukraine's critical infrastructure using attack drones and ground-launched missiles.
In total, the radio technical troops of the Air Force detected and tracked 154 aerial attack tools, including:
- three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles (launch areas – Kursk region);
- 151 Shahed-type attack drones, including about 120 of the Shahed type, from directions including Kursk, Orel, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), Gvardeyskoye, Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea).
The main target of the attack was Kremenchuk in the Poltava region, with Odesa region and frontline territories also coming under fire.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 10:00 AM on December 11, preliminary data indicated that air defense had shot down or suppressed 85 aerial targets:
- 83 drones;
- two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles.
Hits were recorded from 69 attack drones and one ballistic missile at 34 locations.
On the night of December 11, Russian troops again targeted energy facilities in the Kremenchuk district of the Poltava region.
Moreover, in the Odesa region, an energy facility was damaged due to a drone attack.
