Defensive Measures: Latest Updates on Air Defense in Ukraine
The air defense forces of Ukraine have neutralized 558 drones and 19 missiles that were used in attacks on the country during the night of November 28-29. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Forces on Telegram.
In the night of November 29, the enemy launched a combined strike against critical infrastructure in Ukraine using strike drones, air-launched and ground-launched missiles. The primary focus of the attack was Kyiv region.
In total, the radio engineering troops of the Air Forces detected and tracked 632 aerial attack means - 36 missiles and 596 drones of various types:
- 596 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerber types (other types of drones) from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russia, Hvardiske – temporarily occupied territory of Crimea (around 350 of them are 'Shaheds');
- 5 air-launched ballistic missiles Kh-47M2 'Kinzhal' (launch area: Ryazan region – Russia);
- 23 cruise missiles Kh-101/Iskander-K (launch areas: Rostov region – Russia);
- 4 ballistic missiles 'Iskander-M' (launch area: Bryansk, Rostov region – Russia);
- 4 guided air missiles Kh-59/69 (launch areas: Kursk region – Russia).
The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As of 10:30 a.m., preliminary data indicates that the air defense has shot down/suppressed 577 aerial targets:
- 558 enemy drones of the Shahed, Gerber types (other types of drones);
- 1 air-launched ballistic missile Kh-47M2 'Kinzhal';
- 12 cruise missiles Kh-101/Iskander-K;
- 4 ballistic missiles Iskander-M;
- 2 guided air missiles Kh-59/69.
There have been recorded hits of missiles and 35 strike drones at 22 locations, as well as debris falling at 17 locations.
