Successful Operation by Ukrainian Border Guards in Donetsk
In Donetsk, Ukrainian border guards successfully executed an operation that resulted in the destruction of a unique piece of Russian military technology — the mobile reconnaissance and air defense command point PPRU-1 "Ovod-M-SV". This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The strike was carried out by an FPV drone pilot with the call sign "Voyage" from the "Phoenix" unit. The pilot successfully navigated behind enemy lines, identified the hostile system, and eliminated it with a precise strike.
The PPRU-1 "Ovod-M-SV" (Mobile Reconnaissance and Command Point -1) is a Soviet and Russian mobile command and control unit for tactical air defense forces, adopted into service in 1978. The vehicle is based on the lightweight armored tractor MT-LB, weighs 15.5 tons, has a crew of five, and can deploy within 5 minutes.
The system is equipped with a digital radar with a range of up to 40 km, capable of detecting airborne targets and tracking up to 99 objects simultaneously. Its primary function is target designation and fire control for air defense systems such as the ZSU-23-4 "Shilka", 9K35 "Strela-10", 2K22 "Tunguska", as well as portable systems like "Strela-3" and "Igla".
Previously, the "Ghosts" unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine destroyed an enemy helicopter and expensive air defense systems in Crimea.
