New Attacks on Ukraine's Energy Infrastructure

Recent assaults by Russian forces on the energy infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions have caused significant issues. According to the National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" on social media, as of morning, damaged equipment and power outages have been reported in both Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Energy facilities in Odesa were also targeted during the night. Restoration efforts are underway in areas where security conditions allow. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power to consumers as quickly as possible.

In light of the aftermath of previous large-scale attacks, power restrictions for industry and scheduled outages are being implemented across most of Ukraine starting November 13. Maximum restrictions will be in effect during evening hours. As of 9:30 AM on Thursday, electricity consumption is at the same level as the previous day. "Considering the impacts of Russian shelling and weather conditions, there is a need for energy conservation today. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances and shift energy-intensive processes to nighttime when the load on the energy system is lowest," advises the energy system operator.
