The intensity of combat activities on the frontline remained high in October: the month recorded 5,480 engagements and nearly 140,000 artillery strikes from the enemy. These figures surpassed those of September. This was reported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, referencing data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
"According to the General Staff, there were 5,480 combat engagements in October, with daily counts often exceeding 200. The highest number of engagements occurred on October 9 - 245," the Ministry of Defense stated.
The defense department also noted an increase in enemy aviation activity and the intensity of artillery shelling. Throughout October, Russian forces conducted nearly 140,000 strikes, including 3,353 from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the past day, there were 162 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops, with the enemy applying the most pressure in the Pokrovsk direction.
