Analysis of the Night Attack on Ukraine on October 30
During the night of October 30, Ukrainian air defense successfully neutralized 623 drones and missiles out of 705 launched by Russia since the evening of October 29. Direct hits were recorded on 16 missiles and 63 strike UAVs at 20 locations. This information was reported by the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
“On the night of October 30 (from 7:00 PM on October 29), the enemy delivered a combined strike on critical infrastructure in Ukraine using strike UAVs and missiles from air, land, and sea. In total, the radio-technical forces of the Air Forces detected and accompanied 705 aerial threats – 52 missiles (including 9 ballistic) and 653 UAVs of various types (about 400 of them are 'Shaheds'),” the message states.
In particular, the enemy used:
- 653 strike UAVs of the Shahed type, “Gerbera” (other types of drones) from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – RF, Chauda – TOT AR Crimea);
- 4 aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 “Kinzhal” (from Nizhny Novgorod region – RF);
- 5 ballistic missiles Iskander-M/KN-23 (from Rostov region – RF);
- 8 cruise missiles “Kalibr”;
- 2 cruise missiles Iskander-K (from Kursk, Voronezh region – RF);
- 30 cruise missiles X-101 (from Saratov region - RF);
- 2 guided aviation missiles X-59/69 (from the waters of the Black Sea);
- guided aviation missile X-31P (from the waters of the Black Sea).
The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian defense forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 11:30, air defense had shot down or suppressed 623 aerial targets:
- 592 strike UAVs of the Shahed type, “Gerbera” (other types of drones);
- 7 cruise missiles “Kalibr”;
- one cruise missile Iskander-K;
- 21 cruise missiles X-101;
- 2 guided aviation missiles X-59/69.
Currently, direct hits have been recorded on 16 missiles and 63 strike UAVs at 20 locations, as well as the debris of downed targets at 19 locations across various regions of Ukraine. Additionally, three enemy missiles (as of 11:30) have been location-lost, and information regarding their impact sites and consequences is being clarified.
