Following a Russian missile strike on October 1, four residents of Balakliya were injured and are currently hospitalized. This was reported by Vitaliy Karabanov, the head of the local administration, on his Telegram channel.
"In total, 12 people were affected. Four have been hospitalized, and three are experiencing severe stress reactions, including a child born in 2021. The other five received medical assistance and were directed to outpatient care," the post states.
Karabanov also noted that an elderly woman, who had sustained injuries as a child during World War II, lost her life due to the attack.
"88-year-old Alla Mykolayivna was killed by a Russian «Iskander-M» missile. She survived World War II, having been wounded as a child in 1941, but unfortunately, she could not survive this war," added the administration head.
He clarified that the missile strike hit the city center, near residential buildings, shops, a pharmacy, a café, and administrative buildings.
It was reported that on October 1, Russian forces carried out a missile strike on Balakliya in the Kharkiv region.
