Latest Updates on Combat Operations in Ukraine

Since the start of the day, there have been 82 combat encounters between the Ukrainian forces and the enemy, with fighting ongoing in six sectors, particularly intense in the Pokrovsk area. 
This information was shared by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook as of 16:00 on Sunday, September 21.

It is noted that the defenders are maintaining their positions, exhausting the Russian forces along the entire frontline.

The enemy's artillery has shelled areas including Boyaro-Lezhachiv, Novovasyliivka, Bobylivka, Bachivsk, Kozache and Bila Berizka in the Sumy region, as well as Mykhailchyna Sloboda, Bleshnya, Krasnyi Khutir and Yasky Poliana in the Chernihiv region.

In the North-Slobozhansky and Kursky directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled three Russian attacks, with one battle still ongoing. The Russian army has launched seven airstrikes in these sectors, dropped 17 guided bombs, and conducted 102 artillery shellings, including ten from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the South-Slobozhansky direction, since the beginning of the day, defenders have repelled two attacks from Russian troops, with five more encounters in progress. The invaders are attacking near Vovchansk and in the direction of Odradne.

In the Kupiansky direction, Defense Forces successfully halted six enemy offensives in the areas of Stepova Novoselivka, Nova Kruhlyakivka and Kupiansk.

In the Lyman direction, there have been 12 combat encounters near Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Shandryholove, Kolodiaziv, Torske and Novoselivka. Seven battles are still ongoing.

In the Siversky and Kramatorsky directions, no encounters have occurred today.

In the Toretsky direction, the Russians have attacked eight times in the areas of Pleshchiivka, Rusynyi Yar, Poltavka and Toretsk. Battles are ongoing in two locations. 

The Russian army has launched an airstrike on Kostiantynivka.

In the Pokrovsky direction, clashes of varying intensity have taken place 28 times near Pankivka, Nikanorivka, Novoekonomichne, Chervonyi Lyman, Promen, Chunyshyne, Zvirove, Udaichne, Kotlyne and Dachne. One encounter is still ongoing.

In the Novopavlivsky direction, invaders attempted to advance 12 times in the areas of Filia, Zelenyi Hai, Piddubne, Maliivka, Sichenne, Komyshuvakha, Voronoe, Novomykolaivka and Zaporizke. Three encounters are still ongoing.

In the Huliaipil direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack near Olhivske.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian troops attempted to advance four times on the positions of the Defense Forces near Kam'yanske and towards Novodanilivka.

In the Dniprovsky direction, the Russian aviation struck Inhulka and Odradokamianka.
