Tragedy in Kyiv: Night Missile Strike Claims Lives
As a result of a missile strike on Kyiv on the night of August 28, 16 people have died, including 4 children. Many others were injured.
This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky, Chief of the Kyiv City Military Administration Timur Tkachенко, and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko via Telegram.
Tkachенко stated, "The number of fatalities from the enemy attack has risen to 12, including three children aged 2, 17, and 14 years."
By 11 AM, the Interior Ministry confirmed the death toll had increased to 13.
Later, at 12:19, Tkachенко announced that 15 people had died, including 4 children. By 14:05, the number of fatalities rose to 16.
Among the deceased were children aged 2, 14, and 17 years. One child was recovered at the strike site, while two died in the hospital from severe injuries.
38 individuals were injured in the attack.
"Another 10 people are considered missing. Rescue operations are ongoing at the impact sites," the Minister of Internal Affairs reported.
The mayor mentioned that among the injured were children aged 7, 10, and 11.
President Zelensky emphasized that "these Russian missiles are a direct response to those calling for ceasefire and diplomacy. Russia chooses war instead of peace." He also expressed expectations for reactions from China and Hungary regarding this tragedy.
“The world must impose sanctions against Russia for these actions,” he added.
