Impact of Russian Attacks: Thousands Left Without Power
27 August 2025 14:09
Due to the Russian military attack, more than one hundred thousand households in the Poltava, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions have lost power.
This information was reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"Recovery efforts are ongoing in Sumy following the drone strikes. Nearly a hundred UAVs targeted our regions at night, specifically hitting civilian infrastructure. Unfortunately, energy facilities were damaged. As a result, over one hundred thousand households are without electricity. All services are on the ground, and we will restore power as quickly as possible. In Kharkiv, a drone struck a regular school, and in Kherson, a high-rise building was hit. There are casualties, and everyone is receiving necessary assistance. The Dnipropetrovsk region was also under fire.
The Russian forces continue their aggression and disregard any international calls to stop the killings and destruction. New measures are needed to pressure Russia to halt the strikes and ensure real security. We are working with partners to apply such pressure. Thank you to everyone who is helping!"
