Successful Defense Against Attacks: New Achievements in Air Defense
Ukrainian air defense forces successfully neutralized 546 drones, one Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missile, 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles, and 12 "Kalibr" cruise missiles.

From 18:40 on Wednesday, August 20, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 614 aerial assault tools:
574 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of imitation drones from directions including Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), as well as Hvardeyske (temporarily occupied Crimea);
four Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missiles from the airspace of Lipetsk and Voronezh regions;
two "Iskander-M/KN-23" ballistic missiles from Voronezh;
19 Kh-101 cruise missiles from the airspace of Saratov region;
14 "Kalibr" cruise missiles from the Black Sea;
one unidentified type missile from Crimea.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces.
As of 09:00 on Thursday, August 21, air defense had downed/suppressed 577 airborne targets:
- 546 drones;
- one Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" aeroballistic missile;
- 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 12 "Kalibr" cruise missiles.
Impacts of missiles and strike drones were recorded at 11 locations, with debris from downed targets found at three locations.
