Ukraine's Resilient Defense Against Russian Drones

Ukrainian air defense forces have neutralized 88 out of 140 enemy drones.

According to the report, starting at 9 PM on Sunday, August 17, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine with four Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the areas of Taganrog, Millerovo, Kursk, as well as 140 strike UAVs of the Shahed type from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF) and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea). The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Preliminary data as of 9 AM on Monday, August 18, shows that air defense shot down/neutralized 88 enemy Shahed-type drones and various imitator drones in the north, south, east, and center of Ukraine. Strikes by missiles and strike UAVs were recorded at 25 locations in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Kyiv regions.
