Successful Air Defense Operation: Majority of Attack Drones Neutralized

Air defense forces successfully neutralized 45 out of 53 drones that Russian troops launched to attack Ukraine on the night of August 1.

This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine via social media.

From 6:00 PM on Friday, August 1, the enemy launched 53 drones: 45 of them were Shahed strike drones, as well as various types of imitation drones from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk (RF), Hvardiske (occupied Crimea), and eight high-speed drones from Bryansk region.

The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare units, drones, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's defense forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 2, the air defense had shot down or suppressed 45 aerial targets: eight jet drones and 37 Shahed drones and various types of imitation drones in the north, south, east, and center of Ukraine.

Hits from eight drones were recorded in five locations, as well as debris from downed targets in two other places.
