Tragic Consequences of the Attack in Kyiv
In Kyiv, recovery operations are ongoing following the recent attack. All search and rescue efforts have been completed. This was reported by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
«As of now, there are 31 confirmed fatalities, including five children. The youngest victim was only two years old. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. A total of 159 people were injured, 16 of whom are children», — stated the President.
Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that such a despicable attack by Russia shows the need for increased pressure on Moscow and new sanctions.
«No matter how much the Kremlin denies their effectiveness, they work and must be strengthened — we need to strike at everything that allows such attacks to continue. It is crucial that the world does not remain silent about this. I thank everyone who supports our people. We appreciate that President Trump, European leaders, and our other partners clearly see what is happening and condemn Russia.
In July alone, Russian forces used over 5,100 guided aerial bombs against Ukraine, more than 3,800 Shahed drones, and nearly 260 various types of missiles, 128 of which are ballistic. This can only be stopped together: America, Europe, and other global players. Every interaction matters. Every day is important. Thank you to everyone who helps Ukraine», — concluded Zelensky, expressing his condolences to the families of the victims. He also thanked rescuers, police, doctors, nurses, and all those currently assisting people.
The city is providing aid to those who have lost property. A total of 1,045 applications have been received for the 10,000 hryvnias payment (Kyiv has been making such payments to all affected since 2022). 37 individuals whose homes were destroyed or severely damaged have applied for a one-time payment of 40,000 hryvnias, which the city provides for housing rental for two months. Following that, they will receive 20,000 hryvnias monthly for renting accommodation while the city rebuilds their homes.
