Ukrainian Air Defense: A Successful Night Against Drones
During the night of July 27 to 28, Ukrainian air defense successfully destroyed 309 Russian drones out of 324 launched, as well as two X-101 cruise missiles.
This was reported by the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
The enemy launched an attack using 331 aerial threats, including 324 UAVs, 4 cruise missiles, and 3 ballistic missiles.
324 Shahed-type UAVs and various imitator drones were launched from directions including Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russia.
Four X-101 cruise missiles were launched from the airspace of Saratov Oblast, and three X-47 M2 "Kinzhal" ballistic missiles were launched from Lipetsk Oblast.
The main target of the attack was Staro Konstantinov in the Khmelnytskyi region.
The defense was mounted by the aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, UAVs, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Preliminary reports as of 09:30 indicate that 311 enemy aerial threats were neutralized: 309 UAVs and two X-101 cruise missiles.
There were hits recorded from two different types of missiles and 15 UAVs at three locations, as well as debris from downed UAVs at several sites.
"The X-47 M2 ballistic missiles did not reach their targets!" emphasized the Air Forces.
