Night Assault: Restoration of Energy Infrastructure
One target of the night assault by Russian forces was the energy infrastructure.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Telegram, as Ukrinform informs.
«The consequences of the night Russian shelling are currently being addressed. The main strikes were focused on Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions. Energy infrastructure was among the targets. Efforts are being maximized to restore power in Kryvyi Rih, with electricity expected to be reinstated within the day. Unfortunately, 15 people were injured, including one child. All are receiving necessary medical assistance. I thank everyone who is working to mitigate the aftermath of the shelling, restore electricity supply, and care for our people,» Zelensky stated.
He also acknowledged the air force personnel of the Air Forces, Army Aviation, Navy Aviation, drone units, anti-aircraft missile troops, Navy Air Defense, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, who managed to shoot down about 200 drones, with over 140 others failing to reach their targets.
«Russia is not changing its strategy, and to effectively counter this terror, we need a systematic strengthening of our defense: more air defense, more interceptors, more resolve so that Russia feels our response,» the President concluded.
As reported by Ukrinform, starting from 20:00 on Tuesday, July 15, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with the Iskander-M ballistic missile and 400 strikes using Shahed-type UAVs and various imitation drones. The air defense forces shot down 198 of the 400 Russian drones, and 145 of the imitation drones were locally lost/suppressed by electronic warfare. The main targets of the strikes were Kryvyi Rih, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia.
