A Week of Russian Strikes: New Challenges for Ukraine
Over the past week, Russian forces have launched numerous assaults on Ukrainian territory, employing more than 1,800 drones, over 1,200 aerial bombs, and 83 missiles of various types.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky on his Facebook page, as reported by Ukrinform.
“For seven days, we have witnessed large-scale attacks from Russia: over 1800 drones, more than 1200 guided bombs, and 83 missiles. By targeting our cities, the Russians are attempting to escalate terror and intimidation,” the president emphasized.
Zelensky noted that despite the enemy’s plans, significant achievements have been made in the operation of air defense systems.
“Interceptor drones are showing excellent results: hundreds of Russian 'Shahed' drones have been shot down in the past week,” he added.
The president highlighted that all meetings with international partners this week focused on enhancing this technology.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to everyone willing to invest in the protection of Ukrainian lives, as well as to the soldiers guarding the skies.
“Shaheds” are one of Russia's means to prolong the war. We must neutralize this threat for a quicker return to diplomatic efforts,” he stressed.
The president also expressed hope for the implementation of all agreements that will strengthen Ukraine’s defense and for decisive actions from the USA, Europe, the G7 countries, and all other partners.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of July 12, cities across Ukraine came under Russian attack, with 26 cruise missiles and 597 drones launched.
