Casualties Rise in Kyiv Following Night Attack
In the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, the number of casualties from a massive night attack has increased to 24.
This was reported by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко, on Telegram.
"As of now, there are already 24 injured. One man has sought medical assistance," Tkachенко wrote.
As a result of the attack on the capital during the night of July 10, buildings and transportation infrastructure were damaged. Municipal services are working on recovery efforts in the Pechersk, Podil, Solomianskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts, according to the Kyiv City State Administration.
Work is being carried out by units of the municipal corporation «Kyivavtodor», including 25 employees from various road maintenance departments.
A total of 17 pieces of equipment have been deployed, including trucks, tractors, excavators, and other machinery.
Municipal enterprises are actively clearing and dismantling damaged infrastructure elements in the mentioned districts.
Moreover, the emergency rescue services «Kyiv Rescue Service» are inspecting strike locations and dismantling hazardous structures. Currently, 17 rescuers and four pieces of equipment are working on-site.
Over 200 employees, including janitors, roofers, engineers, and repairmen, as well as about 20 pieces of equipment, have also been involved.
The managing companies are coordinating their efforts, focusing on the most damaged locations, with the Shevchenkivskyi district experiencing the most destruction.
Specialists from the «Traffic Management Center» reported damage to traffic lights on Akademika Zabolotnoho Street and at the intersection of Vaclav Havel Boulevard and Mashynobudivna Street. Repair crews are already on-site.
Additionally, the contact network of electric transport was damaged at five locations due to the attack. However, all damages have been repaired, and inspections of stop complexes are ongoing.
According to the Kyiv City Administration, stained glass was damaged at one of the exits of the «Pochayna» metro station. However, metro workers promptly cleared the area, and the station's operations were unaffected — the schedule remained unchanged.
