Air Assault Update: July 9th
On the night of July 8 to 9, the enemy launched a large-scale air assault, registering 741 attack instruments, of which 718 were neutralized by air defense. The Air Forces recorded hits in 4 locations, along with downed objects in 14 locations.

Details: From 8:00 PM on July 8, the aggressor employed:
- 728 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and similar drones from directions: Bryansk, Primorsk-Akhtarsk, Kursk, Orel, Millерово - Russia;
- 7 cruise missiles X-101/"Iskander-K" from the regions of Engels in Saratov Oblast and Kursk Oblast - Russia;
- 6 aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 "Kinzhal" from the airspace of Lipetsk Oblast - Russia.
- The primary target of the attack was the city of Lutsk in the Volyn region.
According to preliminary data as of 8:00 AM, air defense neutralized 718 enemy air attack instruments, 303 were shot down by fire means, and 415 were location-lost:
- 296 enemy UAVs of the Shahed type (and others) were shot down by fire means, 415 - location-lost/jammed by EW;
- 7 cruise missiles X-101/"Iskander-K" - also shot down.
Hits from enemy air attack instruments were recorded in 4 locations, and downed objects were noted in 14 locations.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, EW units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
