Tragic Night in Kyiv: Aftermath of the Attack
As a result of a nighttime attack in Kyiv, 6 individuals have lost their lives, while 19 others have been injured.
Source: State Emergency Service, Interior Minister of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko and Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko via Telegram, spokesperson of the SES Svitlana Vodolaha on the national news marathon.
According to Klymenko, there are fatalities and injuries due to the combined shelling by the enemy.
At 7:27 AM, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the death toll had risen to 5.
"Currently, 5 people have died in a building in the Shevchenkivskyi district due to the enemy attack. In total, there are 19 injured in the city. 8 of them are in hospitals," the mayor stated.
At 8:32 AM, the SES confirmed that the number of fatalities had increased to 6.
"Efforts to eliminate the aftermath of the attack are ongoing at 2 locations. A total of 312 rescuers and 74 units of equipment are involved. Information is being updated," the service noted.
The shelling affected the Shevchenkivskyi, Podilskyi, Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, and Darnytskyi districts.
"The elimination of the consequences of the night strike is ongoing, and all services are working. Information is being clarified," the SES reported.
