Debris clearance operations completed in the Solomyansky district of Kyiv
In Kyiv's Solomianskyi District, search operations have been completed in a partially destroyed nine-story building following the Russian strike on June 17.
"The search and rescue operation lasted over 39 hours. Today at 19:20, rescuers finished their search efforts. Debris removal is still ongoing. Unfortunately, 23 bodies have been recovered from the rubble at this site. In total, 28 people died in the capital due to the Russian shelling on June 17, with over 140 others injured," said Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
Over 400 State Emergency Service (SES) rescuers and more than 200 units of equipment were involved in the operation. Specialized rescue and engineering equipment, drones, and search dogs were utilized.
Rescuers managed to save 2 individuals from the debris, while approximately 50 others were freed from apartments and stairwells.
Later, the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) reported that in one of the buildings in Solomianskyi District, damaged during the enemy attack on June 17, there was a collapse of internal structures.
Specifically, in a five-story building, a section of the stairs between the upper floors collapsed. There were no injuries reported. Rescuers evacuated 5 people.
