Kyiv Metro: A Shelter for Thousands During Night Attack

During the massive combined night attack on Kyiv, 16,000 individuals sought refuge in the metro stations, and for the fifth time, the metro station "Lukiavynska" was damaged.

Quote: "This night, the station "Lukiavynska" has sustained damage, specifically the glass dome and facade were affected, and part of the material was blown away by the shock wave, damaging the station's name".

Details: Metro specialists are actively working on mitigating the consequences. Some areas of the vestibule are temporarily cordoned off.

"Passenger transport is operating safely, and the station is functioning according to the regular schedule," assured the metro authorities.

Reportedly, during the heavy combined shelling of the capital, over 16,000 people, including 1,660 children, took shelter in the Kyiv metro stations.

Currently, 46 underground stations are operating 24/7 as shelters. During air raid alerts, all vestibules are open. On-duty staff provide modular benches, folding chairs, blankets, and mattresses. At the same time, metro workers advise bringing warm clothing when visiting the station at night.
