Pressure on Moscow: A Call for Peace After Attacks

The head of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry, Andriy Sybiha, has urged the international community to intensify pressure on Russia following a massive airstrike that occurred on the night of April 24th.

Direct quote: "Yesterday's maximalist demands from Russia for Ukraine to withdraw its troops from occupied regions, combined with these brutal strikes, indicate that it is Russia, not Ukraine, that is the obstacle to peace. Pressure should be applied to Moscow, not Kyiv".

Details: The Minister reminded that Russia launched a significant missile and drone attack on Ukraine, targeting civilians in Kyiv and other areas.

He emphasized that the capital of Ukraine experienced an especially terrible night, with reports of 9 civilian deaths in Kyiv and over 70 injured, including 6 children.

Other cities and towns across Ukraine also became targets of Russian missiles and drones during the night, resulting in civilian casualties, Sybiha added.

"Through its actions, rather than words, Putin demonstrates that he disrespects any peace efforts and only wishes to continue the war. Weakness and concessions will not stop his terror and aggression. Only strength and pressure can achieve that," the Ukrainian Foreign Minister highlighted.

What happened earlier: On the eve, US President Donald Trump stated that Russia is ready for a "peace agreement," while negotiating with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky proved to be more challenging.
