In the wake of a recent missile strike in Sumy, President Volodymyr Zelensky called upon the global community, particularly the United States and Europe, to take immediate action.
According to a statement released on Telegram, Zelensky emphasized that hundreds of civilians have been affected by the attack.
"Only monsters can act this way, taking lives from ordinary people. I extend my condolences to those who have lost loved ones. Rescue operations are currently ongoing, and all necessary services are actively working. The world must respond decisively. I urge the United States, Europe, and everyone who desires an end to this war to act," Zelensky stated.
He also highlighted that Russia seeks to instill terror and prolong the conflict.
"Without pressure on the aggressor, peace is unattainable. Talks have never stopped missiles or bombs. We need to treat Russia as it deserves. I thank everyone for supporting Ukraine in our fight for life," the president added.
As a result of the Russian missile strike in Sumy, more than twenty civilians were killed, reported acting mayor Artem Kobzar.
