Drone Attacks on Ukrainian Cities: Casualties and Damage
On the evening of Tuesday, April 8, the Russian army launched a drone strike on the city of Dnipro. This led to a fire in the city, as reported by Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, and Mayor Borys Filatov.
Drone attack on Dnipro: 15 injured
Currently, it is known that 15 individuals were injured (ages ranging from 18 to 87). Eight people have been hospitalized (1 in critical condition, 6 in moderate condition).
Five apartment buildings were damaged, with at least 200 windows shattered, and there are also destructions in the private sector.
Fires have also been reported in the city.
Mayor Filatov confirmed that residential buildings were struck. Head of the Regional State Administration Lysak provided updates on the condition of the injured.
Drone attack on Kramatorsk: what we know
On the night of Wednesday, April 9, Russian forces also attacked the city of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region with drones. A family with an 11-year-old child was affected by the attack.
This was reported by Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
Preliminary information indicates that an 11-year-old girl, her 34-year-old mother, and her 55-year-old grandmother were injured.
“Tonight, the city was subjected to a massive drone attack by the Russians...,” Filashkin wrote.
Emergency services, police, and government representatives are working at the impact sites. The extent of the damage caused by the strikes is currently being assessed.
Night attack by the Russian Federation on Kharkiv: 20 drone hits
On the evening of April 8 and into the night of April 9, the Russian Federation carried out a new attack on Ukraine using 'Shahed' drones ('Geran-2'). Around 20 strikes were reported in Kharkiv.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).
SES also published photos of the aftermath of the Russian UAV attacks on Kharkiv.
Emergency services noted that hits were recorded in the Kyiv, Industrial, and Osnovyansky districts of the city.
“The strikes targeted civilian facilities, warehouses, and industrial buildings. Six fire outbreaks were recorded. The total area of the fire exceeded 1,200 square meters,” the SES report stated.
