Ukraine's Defense Initiatives for 2025
In 2025, Ukraine aims to allocate 739 billion UAH for the production and procurement of military equipment and to establish long-term contracts for defense enterprises.
This was announced by the leader of the "Servant of the People" party, MP Olena Shuliak.
According to her, the focus in 2025 will be on producing modern long-range weapons domestically, as last year's investments have already yielded results on the battlefield. Olena Shuliak reminded that Ukraine has successfully tested and launched domestically produced cruise missiles into serial production and completed the development and testing of ballistic missiles. President Volodymyr Zelensky also announced plans to produce 30,000 drones capable of covering over a thousand kilometers to strike important military and economic targets in the aggressor country.
"Our long-range missiles and drones are already hitting strategic military targets deep in enemy territory, disrupting oil refineries that supply fuel to Russian military equipment, and destroying logistics chains and troop concentrations. Increasing the production of long-range weapons will enable the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike even more effectively against enemy territory," – noted Olena Shuliak.
She also added that this year, long-term contracts for the production of weapons and ammunition are planned, as this is a key request from defense enterprises.
The leader of the "Servant of the People" party also reminded that the party has been consistently supporting the Ukrainian army and investing in the defense industry. During the full-scale war, "Servant of the People" has already allocated 400 million UAH to the Armed Forces, and an additional 49 million UAH of saved funds have been directed to the state budget. These funds have been used to purchase, among other things, domestic anti-tank missile systems "Stugna-P" for the National Guard and 2,000 electronic warfare systems.
Furthermore, according to Olena Shuliak, the party's deputies in the regions are actively supporting the Armed Forces, often initiating funding decisions in their local councils. Specifically, nearly 20 billion UAH has been allocated for the needs of the Armed Forces from regional and local budgets across the country at the initiative of the "Servant of the People" deputies.
