Norway Enhances Support for Ukraine
During the 26th meeting of the “Ramstein” format, it was revealed that Norway will provide Ukraine with new air defense systems valued at 1.2 billion Norwegian crowns (approximately 107 million USD).
This information was confirmed by the Norwegian Ministry of Defense.
Norwegian Assistance to Ukraine - Key Details
«We are delivering new air defense systems worth 1.2 billion Norwegian crowns, procured through the JUMPSTART program to protect the population and critical infrastructure of Ukraine,” the statement noted.
At the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense, Norwegian Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik emphasized that air defense is the top military priority for Ukraine and is essential for protecting both military and civilian infrastructure.
This funding is part of 22.5 billion Norwegian crowns (about 2 billion USD) that will be allocated for military support to Ukraine in 2025 under the Nansen Support Program.
In 2024, Norway allocated over six billion Norwegian crowns for Ukraine's air defense (over 532 million USD).
Additionally, Norway will join the “drone coalition” operating within the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense, contributing 50 million USD for this purpose.
United Kingdom Chairs Ramstein for the First Time
The United Kingdom has officially chaired the “Ramstein” meeting for the first time.
The 26th meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense took place on February 12 at NATO headquarters in Brussels.
