The Ukrainian association «Society of Ukrainian-Cypriot Friendship» has recently been accepted as an associated member of the European Congress of Ukrainians (ECU). This was announced via ECU's Facebook page.
Founded in 2017, the society brings together Ukrainians living in Cyprus to support cultural initiatives, social integration, and to foster friendly relations with the local Cypriots.
The organization conducts various cultural and social events, participates in international initiatives, and advocates for the voice of the Ukrainian community on the island.
The strategic focus of the «Society of Ukrainian-Cypriot Friendship» is to strengthen Ukrainian identity abroad and promote significant issues concerning Ukraine.
At the annual General Assembly held last November, new council members were elected. The updated leadership under Nadia Mykhailina will serve until November 2027.
Last year, the Ukrainian House was inaugurated in the city of Paphos, Cyprus.
