Honoring Ukraine's Heroines at Kyiv Pechersk Lavra

At the National Preserve Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a tribute was paid to women who lost their lives for Ukraine by planting a tulip tree.
The choice of this plant was intentional. As the organizers stated, the tulip tree has become a memorial symbol due to its ability to preserve life and strength for many years.
The tree thrives well in the area between St. Nicholas Church (building No. 25) and the Cells (building No. 4) on Lavrska Street, 9.
The tulip tree was planted during a ceremonial event dedicated to servicewomen, healthcare workers, volunteers, journalists, and other women who gave their lives for Ukraine.
“Together, we have created a space of remembrance for Ukrainian women whose lives were taken by the war. The tulip tree that has appeared in the Lavra area symbolizes our respect and shared responsibility.
It is important for us that it is here we have a symbol that unites society in the desire to preserve the memory of their contributions and dedication for future generations,” commented acting general director of the Preserve, Svitlana Kotliarevska.
