Inspiring Journey of Veteran Valentina Oleksienko: From Adversity to Art

Valentina Oleksienko, a veteran from Vorzel, has set a national record in the category of «First artist creating paintings using a wheelchair». This remarkable achievement was reported by the Bucha City Council.
After a serious spinal injury, Valentina lost the ability to walk, but he persevered – thanks to his wife's support and rehabilitation programs, he discovered a new calling. Now he paints using the wheels of his chair, translating his emotions and inner strength onto the canvas.
One of his paintings, titled «Turns of Fate», symbolizes the journey through hardships: yellow represents hope, while black signifies challenges, but in the end, light always prevails.
Currently, Valentina is undergoing rehabilitation in Lviv and continues to create new artworks for charity auctions to support Ukrainian soldiers.
His story is a testament to courage, faith, and inspiration. Even when life takes a sharp turn, one can find a new path to their dreams.
