Breaking Barriers: Inclusivity Workshop in Kyiv
A one-day workshop titled «Communication Without Barriers» took place in Kyiv, bringing together participants of various ages to discuss the significance of inclusivity in society.
During the event, an illustrated guide titled «The Heart Sees More Than the Eyes» was introduced, aiming to promote tolerance and mutual respect, as reported by the Kyiv City Council press service.
Among the attendees were Kyiv City Council representatives, including the Commissioner for Disability Rights, Lesya Petrivska, and Council member Olesya Zubrytska.
Lesya Petrivska emphasized the importance of ensuring comfort for all residents of the capital.
«While we often discuss accessibility in buildings and transport, friendly communication is equally important. This workshop teaches us how to communicate without barriers,» - stated Lesya Petrivska. «The presentation of the guide, which explains the concept of inclusivity to both children and adults, is a significant step in this direction.»
Olesya Zubrytska highlighted the importance of such initiatives in creating an environment where everyone feels valued and heard.
«I see positive changes in attitudes towards people with disabilities in the capital, but there is still much work to be done. These events help raise awareness about inclusivity and showcase practical solutions. It’s crucial for future generations to grow up understanding and respecting others,» - added Olesya Zubrytska.
