Demonstration Near the US Embassy in Support of Ukraine
In Warsaw, Poland's capital, a peaceful rally took place on Thursday near the US Embassy, supporting Ukraine as part of the international campaign "Don't Sell Ukraine", which is occurring in various countries worldwide.
The event, organized by the initiative "Euromaidan-Warsaw", saw participation from Ukrainians who have found temporary refuge in Poland, local residents, members of the Ukrainian diaspora, and activists.
According to "Euromaidan-Warsaw", participants gathered to express gratitude to the US for their support and to call for avoiding "peaceful" solutions that could legitimize the consequences of aggression.
"We sincerely thank the United States for everything they have done for Ukraine. For every air defense system that saves lives, for the assistance that supports our economy, for the diplomatic stance that gives us a voice in the world. We see and appreciate this support. That’s why we are asking: do not allow aggression to be rewarded. Maintain this moral course. Stay on the side of freedom, as always," said activist Emma Zahynayko during the rally.
Participants honored the memory of those lost to Russian aggression with a moment of silence. According to the latest UN data, in July 2025, Russia killed 286 Ukrainian civilians, while another 1388 were injured, marking a new record high in the last three years. The total number of civilian casualties increased by 48% compared to the same period in 2024.
The rally also emphasized the special role of the Budapest Memorandum, signed in 1994. At that time, Ukraine voluntarily renounced the third-largest nuclear arsenal in the world in exchange for security and territorial integrity guarantees, including from the US.
"Any attempts to 'reset' relations with Russia at the expense of Ukrainian territories or lives send a signal to other autocracies: impunity is possible. This is a precedent that will undermine the international security system," stressed activist Nina Tkatchuk from "Euromaidan-Warsaw".
