Recognition of Ukraine's Medical Workers
President Volodymyr Zelensky, on the occasion of Medical Workers Day, met with combat and civilian doctors at an MVS medical center where he awarded them state honors.
This information is available on the President's website.
«I want to congratulate all our doctors, nurses, and everyone dedicated to the crucial mission of healing and saving lives. Healing our citizens, assisting with rehabilitation, especially for our warriors today,» – the President noted.
He emphasized that even in the most dangerous conditions near the front lines and in border regions, Ukrainians receive medical assistance.
According to the head of state, the work of all those developing the rehabilitation system in Ukraine is extremely important.
«Here, state institutions are involved, as well as many municipal and private establishments, and a lot of initiatives in our society. There are teams, there is professional, evidence-based rehabilitation,» – the President stressed.
He thanked Ukrainian medical workers for their efforts and urged everyone to remember the doctors and nurses who lost their lives due to Russian strikes. Their memory was honored with a moment of silence.
The head of state awarded military and civilian medical personnel with orders and medals and conferred honorary titles of «Honored Doctor of Ukraine» and «Honored Worker of Healthcare of Ukraine».
The awards were given to combat medics who evacuate wounded soldiers from the battlefield under challenging conditions and provide first aid, as well as civilian medical workers who have been assisting the injured since the outset of the full-scale Russian invasion, continuing their work in frontline areas and organizing medical services.
Zelensky listened to a report on the activities of the medical unit that provides assistance to wounded soldiers. The facility has a complete cycle of treatment and rehabilitation, including medical and psychological support.
The President checked the operation of the day hospital, wards, the operating room, and the diagnostic departments for endoscopic, radiological, fluorographic, and ultrasound examinations.
Additionally, the medical center representatives showcased specialized transport used for evacuation and assistance in combat situations, including emergency medical service vehicles and the armored vehicle «Novator-2S», intended for evacuating the wounded from the battlefield, as well as a mobile surgical complex that enables stabilization interventions directly in combat zones.
